41856 2002-04-04 13:25:00 I have an AMD K6 450, 390 (ish?)MB RAM, 20GB C: drive, Award BIOS (not sure how old, but can find out if needed!), 98SE ( {:o( thinking of XP soon! {:o) and now I want to put a 40GB D: drive (I'm open to D:, E:, F: etc or more if explanations are forth coming how! {:o) in because I want to try putting VHS tapes onto DivX/MPEG-4/AVI or something else that would fit on a CD!
My problem is when doing the Autodetect in the BIOS it doesn't see the 40GB at all! Any clues?

41857 2002-04-04 13:43:00 Make sure the drive is connected properly the jumper is set for slave if it's used as a slave drive.

If that checks out you may need a BIOS upgrade. Visit the manufacturer of your board and see if they have an update for it.

41858 2002-04-05 09:30:00 Also check your master drive jumper setting. Many have different settings for master alone and master + slave. Guest (0)

Some one has been telling me about a drive overlay! Hmm!
Any hints?
