1295048 2012-08-16 08:08:00 Recently was browsing the internet and avast antivrus detected a threat , it say it has blocked but I just want to be sure that I'm safe .

So if avast blocks a threat from a website , what does it actually do , just blocks and does nothing or what ?????

Threat was something like this - station-rewardscenter.net

Im have run malwarebytes and no infection was detected ( Quick Scan )

and Avast also found same thing (Quick Scan ) .

1295049 2012-08-16 08:32:00 NOD32 blocked it as well. What it does is blocks you from going to the website, therefore preventing any damage from happening. So, nothing bad will have happened.
Just a note to others - DON'T go to that link, is dodgy according to NOD32.

Or, you could downgrade AVAST to something like Nortons which won't pick it up. :D
Just sayin ;)

Well, if you uninstall Avast, no
If you remove Avast and then visit the site, yes.

That single instance didn't happen. No matter what you do, it didn't happen. But, if you go there again without Avast or something better like NOD32, you will get stung.

Mine offers the option of opening in a "Sand Box"
