| 1294615 | 2012-08-14 00:54:00 | our brother printer has decided to not play nice on all 3 laptops it shows up as offline in the wireless settings of the printer status is active, signal is strong, and IP is static in the router DHCP table, it shows the IP of the printer to have expired. do i change the BOOT method in the printer to Auto, Static, RARP, BOOTP or DHCP?, currently on static or do i need to give it a new IP? thanks was working fine until yesterday i believe |

Make sure all you network settings are correct on the printer. Can you ping it and browse to the web interface of the printer? Also is the firmware for the printer up to date? Out of date NIC firmware on the printer can cause this problem. |

Go to the Printer, double click it, open the print queue, even if nothing is there waiting, then top left click on the word "printer" in the menu make sure "use printer Offline" is unticked. 4084 |

| 1294621 | 2012-08-14 07:04:00 | When you installed it, did you install and setup the network connection Via its software ? Meaning the Brother on mine ( windows 7) doesn't actually show a IP address, its shows a Name Brother gave until you log into its interface, then you change the IP address, (on windows 8 it shows the IP address). |

| 1294623 | 2012-08-14 10:43:00 | Try setting the printer to DHCP and try printing to the Hostname instead of the ip address. From your post, the problem is with the printer. It maybe time to see if it is the wireless thats faulty. Plug one of your laptops to it by USB and see if it prints. Also try connecting it to your network with a network lead and see if you can print to it that way. Try pinging its network connections and as mentioned before, you should be able to browse to its web interface. You can do that by putting its ip address or hostname in your browser. Post back here how you get on. Me personally would not recommend connecting printers wirelessly, as this can cause slow printing. |
