1271432 2012-04-23 15:41:00 Well - there's no new snow . The trees are all blooming, cows are in the fields with their newborns, we saw a wolf again run through our property, the mountains are all turning green and the snow caps are all melting .

Summer's a-coming .

The BEST news: I qualify for a fishing license after next week on my six month anniversary of living here, Hooray!

1271433 2012-04-23 21:31:00 Spring is spinging !! Lucky you, winter is starting to settle in here, just 2 degrees this morning. So you have to "qualify" for a fishing licence, odd, we just walk into a shop and buy a season fishing licence and can fish anywhere in the country (except Taupo) - although a rip-off price of $116 !!. Yeah - one has to be a resident of a state for a period of time to qualify tor a resident's license to fish .

One CAN buy an out-of-state license for seriously more money if one is so inclined . I however, have not found myself tipped over that far .

Youse guys live IN NZ, and as such I would imagine since you don't cross state lines inside your country, then this might seem foreign to youse guys . The US is H U G E and has 50 separate entities that have their own sovereign laws and rules .

State fish are for state residents unless one wants to pay for the privilege of fishing there as an outsider .

I hear-tell that my license will be $8 . 00 for a year since I am old (66 in a few days) and retired and handicapped with bad lungs and bones (Agent Orange in Vietnam) .

Ian, I was born a "pig islander". Even had to teach those "funny speak bros" how to do maths in the 5th form, don't ask me what that is in today's lingo Year 6 perhaps, lol.

Lurking.

Ps. son is a wild game ranger and I hate going fishing/duck shooting with him, beggar is far too enthusiastic about it.

lurks.
