1271052 2012-04-21 02:22:00 Hi there all.
A neighbour who has little money I have scored a freeview satalite decoder and a dish for. Am I able to link all the aerials together or does the dish coaxial have to be separate.

1271054 2012-04-21 08:18:00 Does the Freeview decoder have separate inputs for Dish and UHF aerials? If it does, then you have your answer. Paul.Cov (425)

Well at the moment there are two aerials linked to one coaxial cable and then there is the dish coaxial. If I combine the dish and aerial coaxial cables will the signals from each interfere with each other.

I'm sorry but it doesn't really give me the answer.

1271058 2012-04-21 10:19:00 You can use one cable but not recommended and you need a couple of diplexers. These take the two different signals from sat and aerials and combines them into one cable. Then at the other end you need another diplexer to separate them out again before connecting to the tv, decoder etc.
If the aerial cable is not rg6 then you will need to run a separate rg6 cable for the sat.

Thanks for that.
I will run another cable as getting the two diplexers would probably cost the same or more. I just thought it might save her some money connecting the two together and me some time.
