1270752 2012-04-18 06:37:00 Has anyone ever tried to find out what version of a remixed song they are listening to? When songs have multiple versions & remixes by every man & his dog, it is very difficult to find the version you want.

I have an old burnt CD with a song I really like & it has a better intro than the popular version (opens with horns instead of whatever instrument they use in the video). www.youtube.com
There are heaps of versions of this song available through itunes, but the preview doesn't give me the intro.

1270753 2012-04-18 06:51:00 Pirate every version you can until you find the right one, then buy that specific copy and delete all the copies you pirated.

Makes perfect sense, but is of course illegal. Your choice!

1270754 2012-04-18 07:01:00 Use a mp3 search engine, (www.addictivetips.com) e.g. Groove Shark. Could pull up numerous titles. Then play them.

Or go to Amazon Music, search and check (and sometimes sample play) categories or links for version, radio edits, imports, EP versions, etc.

Also, see if you can rip your track, then use a mp3 tag program to read any tags, which may list the version, album, etc.

If you have the one you want on CD whats wrong with that copy ? if it works OK and you want it on your Pc, rip the CD/Song.

+1 or shazam.

Both should have free options.

1270760 2012-04-18 10:28:00 I'd use a smartphone app like Soundhound to find out what version of the song is playing.This. It can't identify everything, but most of the time it's spot on. Erayd (23)
1270761 2012-04-18 10:50:00 I want to get a legal copy of it & one where the end isn't mixed into the next song on the CD (Destination Calabria is the first song on the CD). The version I have sounds like it might be live but all the live ones I can find sound terrible.

I assume a 28 second sample is fair use?

It is a great video - you should watch the making of - no greenscreen :O They actually have that many beautiful women who look almost identical. I had never seen the video before I started looking for the song today.
