Screw those of you who abuse the road code and think that you can park your vehicle anyway that you like.

Where my life and safety is concerned, I say good on whoever issues you with an infringement notice/ticket :)

Only problem with that is it helps when there is some consitancy with the enforcement.

There is a van parked near my place on the road with no COF/WOF and an exemption on the licence, which has still not been ticketed or moved despite numerous phone callss to local council who can not do anything as it is on the road and even to the NZTA who again place it as an enforcement issue to the cops. That sage promoted my comments of is it really revenue gathering by the cops! Seems to be one road rule for some and another road rule for others. This van is on a highway and yes could be seen as a safety issue especially at night. So hows that sit with you zippity?

If so, which one/s?

The operative word in your earlier post was "parked".

So I now ask of you: "Are you for real?" :(

It had to get there somehow...If a vehicle if parked on a public road with an expired rego or WOF, it's fair game for the wardens or police. johcar (6283)

So you are saying because it is parked that it is not an offence under the Road Traffic Act? You are also saying that any vehicle can be "parked" on the road without a Wof/COF and registration!

Maybe "parked" would be the wrong word as it has been there for well over a month, Yes in that time was moved back several metres from a junction it was/still is causing a visibilty obstruction to. To move it would mean "DRIVING it on a public road".

So you still struggling to see what offences being commited by the owner/driver?

Your the one that said no excuse for parking over a driveway earlier in this thread.

Either the flippant remarks was missed in the written form which however does not excuse you from answering the question not far up this page either. :(

Now not saying you but some people seem to be above the law if that was not the case then a ticket or two would have been issued and a tow away organised. Hardly a parellel to parking across your own driveway and being able to challenge the inconsitancy of parking regulations.

1271540 2012-04-29 06:06:00 Whatever.

Meanwhile, in Wellington the decked in blue "Ticket Nazis", each morning still ignore the reverse angle parked vans on Thorndon Quay whilst they merrily ticket any cars "parked" in the so called "Keep Free Zone".

I guess they soon will be handing out merit awards to all those ignorant cyclists on Hutt Road who insist on using the left-hand lane approaching Thorndon Quay, coming into town, and NOT the clearly marked cycle lane on the normally vacant footpath.
