1270831 2012-04-19 23:32:00 And they're starting to paint the attacker as a victim, having foetal alcohol syndrome . The only thing this guy is the victim of is having f'd-up parents .

A report obtained by Fairfax said he had been drinking "large quantities of alcohol since he was 14 years of age" and was part of a "very large family living in confined quarters" where violence was frequently used .

"It is obvious that [he] began living on the streets with his friends from an early age . "

A carer he lived with for six months as a teenager said: "There's a lot of alcohol in the family .

"Both the parents enjoyed their drink, so did the boys . "

Rebecca Williams, director of Alcohol Healthwatch, said foetal alcohol syndrome sufferers struggled with school, and failed to learn from the consequences of their actions .

In extreme cases they required an "outside brain" – someone to help them with decision making .
End the gene pool right now . Why these people with known dangerous issues are allowed to live in the society fails me . Bring back mental institutions and lock them up . Use them for medical experiments, do whatever, let them die out, they are more of a problem to society (physically and financially) than what they are worth .

1270833 2012-04-20 02:04:00 Breaking into a house should be made a much more serious offense with very high penalties for the first offense.

This will stop this lame "burglaries go wrong" excuse.

And ripping investors in finance companies off should also be a much more serious offence with compulsory acquisition of all assets, overseas and in trusts, every last cent.
I believe that the Government brought in a 'Home Invasion' law a few years back. This meant that entering someone's home and attacking them attracted harsher penalties than if the attack took place in the street.

1270836 2012-04-20 06:44:00 A man charged with stabbing a 95-year-old war veteran in the head suffers from foetal alcohol syndrome, a condition exacerbated by a six-year history of binge drinking and living on the streets .

The accused, whose name is suppressed until a court appearance today, has "difficulty in making appropriate decisions, and has little comprehension of the consequences of his actions", a report obtained by Fairfax says .

Doesn't it make you feel just sick to the guts?

I don't care if he has this alleged problem that has been exacerbated by his binge drinking (so its his own fault), he has self inflicted himself with a 'retardation' that caused himself to attempt murder - this may happen again .

Bring out your best blunt objects fellas, lets teach this scum of the earth a lesson .

1270838 2012-04-23 21:53:00 Story here (www.stuff.co.nz) ... the guy who did it should be shot ... too costly to keep scum like that it jail.

Shooting him costs taxpayers money, too. Get him to dig a hole and burry himself! :D
