You're right there Gary. Only thing I can recall downloading for a time before the Ask toolbar appearing was downloading a file from PC World online for a cpu temp monitor which I've since removed.

Tried that as well PPp, no luck with it, still showing as a browser. I'm now wondering if I do have to remove Chrome and re-install.

1294393 2012-08-14 07:24:00 There seems to be a large number of different answers on the net. It may hide in program folders, or use other names (oovoo is one of them) . Have a look here:productforums.google.com Sorry to link to so much dross, but there seems to be some real info in there. PPp (9511)
1294394 2012-08-14 13:45:00 I had problems with Chrome, Firefox and Opera. They all got slower and sometimes would not show Graphics enlarged. I found 2 files in the C drive, lservice.exe & rlvknlg.exe in the 'Program files' folder. I removed these then ran CCleaner and Fire Fox and Opera were Ok. but had to reinstall Chrome. mzee (3324)

Haven't noticed any problems with the actual connection, only loading webpages which freeze and not being able to play anything from You Tube or similar sites. I get the the page but it's all black and sometimes has audio.

I found the rlvknlg file and deleted it then ran CCleaner, doesn't appear to have any difference to Chrome loading slowly and webpages freezing but thanks for the info.
