| 1271579 | 2012-04-30 01:03:00 | There's a trick I use all the time for this. So when people resize their browser the image resizes with them. This is for a static background though Add your image code to the bottom of your page, under everything. <img id="bg" class="bg" src="images/bg.jpg" alt="background" /> Then add the following to your CSS img.bg{-webkit-background-size: 100% auto;height:auto;left:0;min-width:1024px;position:fixed;top:0;width:100%;z-index:-1;} @media screen and (max-width: 1024px){ img.bg{left:50%;margin-left:-512px;} } I normally put my image about 1500 px wide if I can, and then however tall you want, but I use fixed backgrounds. Then it fades into a gradient at the bottom and a solid colour for taller screens. My best example is on a locked website or I'd let you see it. You can see one of my earlier examples at www.reillyhodson.com though |
