How big? The 80GB drive I was planning to sell in a computer is giving me SMART errors :p

1270741 2012-04-19 09:47:00 Go to any small-ish computer/computer repair place, ask if they have any old computers they don't want.
Long and short is there are a lot of unused older computers around that no one wants, you just have to kinda stick your hand up at times... ask around friends/family etc perhaps

1270742 2012-04-19 10:05:00 You could have some of mine if you were in welly, for anyone interested the "box o crap" will be on offer in wellington again shortly. Adding some IDE HDD's to the pile as well as some CD drives amongst other things
After giving that box o crap, I'm half way through collecting another.. People soon learn where to dump there stuff. In the last week I have been given a media gate drive and two wireless routers.

1270743 2012-04-22 00:58:00 This is a little off topic but what do you people think of the Intel Core 2 Extreme quad core QX9770? ChazTheGeek (16619)
1270744 2012-04-22 01:19:00 Its ok, if you've got a spare 2K. But one site says theyre now discontinued. So, you may or may not find one Speedy Gonzales (78)
1270745 2012-04-22 02:57:00 There are a few on ebay at the moment at crazy prices. At the prices they are starting at I could get a Core i7 6 core!! ChazTheGeek (16619)
1270746 2012-04-22 04:44:00 QX9770's that ship to nz are $400-500US (about 500-600 nz) + shipping, based on this: www.cpubenchmark.net you could easily do better than that for $600nz. icow (15313)
1270747 2012-04-22 04:48:00 Can it run modern games? ChazTheGeek (16619)
1270748 2012-04-22 05:27:00 Any quad core can run modern games. Not many games are very cpu intensive. icow (15313)
