1294795 2012-08-14 21:32:00 Hi guys,
I am building a gaming rig and not sure which graphics card to go with.
I was thinking of either going for dual Radeon 7770's or a single GTX 560 ti
OR should I wait for the gtx 660 to come out?
thanks

1294796 2012-08-14 21:40:00 If your budget and patience will stretch to the 660, I'd do that, else I'd go with the 560 Ti (or maybe a 7850). inphinity (7274)

1294798 2012-08-14 22:16:00 I'd always prefer a single card over two, less stress on the PSU, less noise.
Depends on the CPU speed vs game you're playing. I've got a Pentium C2D 3.0Ghz and it's never been the bottleneck vs my 6870 :)

1294799 2012-08-14 22:40:00 Nice,
I will probably be using a 750 or less PSU
I am going to buy a sandy bridge cpu now and a cheap motherboard so next year when the new haswell processors come out I can get a super fast
processor and a really good motherboard

1294800 2012-08-15 00:02:00 I 2nd the vote for a single card, 560Ti, 7850, or 660 when it arrives.
After my own experience with dual cards I'd leave it for those serious gamers who wan't to game at extreme resolutions and/or over multiple screens, there are a number of issues and pitfalls to watch out for with multiple card setups.

For the average gamer @1080P or lower a single card is the way to go, less hassle all around.

I have a GTX580 in one machine and a GTX560Ti in the other (both @1080P resolution), it's honestly impossible to tell the difference in 90%or more of games. I used to have dual GTX460's and I'd pick either of my current cards in preference to that.
