1473132 2020-11-22 22:44:00 The Idiot Trump and his stupid Dr. Atlas adviser are pushing the same idea.

God help USA and Sweden with people like them running the country.

1473133 2020-11-22 23:10:00 this was the model that NZ covid denyers wanted to follow
are those in the NZ media puting forward Sweeden as a role model , now going to admit how absolutely wrong they were ?

in country with a much healthier population the NZ
" Sweden's per capita death rate is several times higher than in Finland, Denmark and Norway"

scary , literally the worst case scenario .
"It is believed roughly one-in-five people in Stockholm are infected."

1473135 2020-11-23 03:14:00 Sweden's number 37 on the list. Better than some of the surrounding countries with lockdowns. paulw (1826)
1473136 2020-11-23 06:18:00 The problem I have with the “Worldometers” figures is that probably half the countries listed wouldn’t have a clue what their real position is, because they would only be guessing at their population, and wouldn’t know, or care, what someone really died from.

Then, add in the ones who have a policy of never telling the truth, and the whole exercise is a forlorn one.

However, we do know that this Virus is a vicious little sod, and very difficult to round up, so we can’t afford to let it run riot.

Therefore, I support our present efforts and congratulate Jacinda for listening to the right people.

I shudder to think of the outcome if we had left our borders open.

37th without accounting for population. It jumps to 18th for cases per million, for example, or 30th for deaths per million. If their case numbers are going up dramatically, then their death rate is likely to ramp up in a couple of weeks.

So anyway you put it, not a viable strategy & Jacinda did the right thing.

1473138 2020-11-23 20:11:00 Just as with "Climate Change" you can find data and experts to back up any preconceived notion you may hold regarding "Corona virus". The news media, as always, decide what view of things will generate the most eyes-on-page and therefore advertising dollars. They then push that view exclusively ignoring anything which does not fit that view. Critical thought appears to be a skill that is in short supply amongst the general population so most believe whatever the headlines tell them to believe without question.
I have no problem with others believing whatsoever they desire but I do not have the slightest intention to spend my time terrified of a virus which has a 0.05% chance of killing me if I do catch it. I am a lot more at risk of death or injury during my 3km drive to the local supermarket than from any virus.

If she had gone hard and early like the MOH and opposition parties had suggested like the end of February instead of keeping the borders open we would not have to gone to lockdown 4 . 3 or 2 only maybe . Taiwan led the way but the thought of a March 15th photo op was too much for Cindy.

Where does the figure of 0.05% come from?
