1473081 2020-11-22 04:10:00 Have you noticed the ads on the telly lately for hair straighteners?

Why is it that women with curly hair want straight hair and women with straight hair want curly hair? It's insane!:groan:

Why not be just satisfied with what you have - straight or curly?

1473083 2020-11-22 05:56:00 Or why do they think they need expensive perfume. So long as they bath on a regular basis theu smell quite ok to me. CliveM (6007)
1473084 2020-11-22 08:11:00 That's the advertising working as intended - it's supposed to make you think you want to change your hairstyle, and thus "need" to buy their product(s).

I doubt that all women actually want to attain an opposite hair style to their natural look. A lot probably don't. But the ad is designed to make you think otherwise...

Same goes for perfume I expect, their advertising conflates the product with positive images of success, beauty, youth, power, etc, and thus sends a message that wearing the perfume will somehow bring you these things.

They do the same thing with Coca Cola. Notice how much fun everyone drinking it in the ads is having, and how happy they look? You too can 'enjoy', if only you just drink some Coke....

I know men that use perfume....
I don't have expensive perfume, but I do have some....now and then I like to smell like flowers rather than just soap.

As for the hair...yes.......for sure.

I like curls and don't have any. I have 2 friends with curls who don't like them They say it's annoying and you can't style your hair. I say mine is annoying and you HAVE to style the stuff.

LOL...

1473087 2020-11-22 20:18:00 "Why is it so". Good question Roscoe, only problem is, if there was an answer to that question it would take to long to answer. If you could find someone who knows how a woman's mind works. But then, that's another matter. :)

1473088 2020-11-23 00:44:00 I just told you kenj. Basically how they want it to look and how much fussing they want (or not) to do with it.
Stop perpetuating stereotypes, not all women give a **** about hair or fashion and I know some men who spend ages with their hair and hair products and crap.
