Some 22 years later he was interviewed for American television where his own words were thrown back at him by Barbara Walters, and he replied bluntly: “I haven’t changed my opinion.”

1472693 2020-10-31 21:34:00 RIP Mr Connery. My favourite movie of his is 'The Russia House' based on a John Le Carre book and screenplay by Tom Stoppard. Excellent cast. bellbird (6169)
1472694 2020-10-31 22:31:00 The Name of the Rose is a good movie, worth a look, very atmospheric, capturing an ancient time and place very well. zqwerty (97)

1472696 2020-11-01 03:36:00 "The Scottish movie star, who died in his sleep overnight at the age of 90, leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Micheline Roquebrune, with whom he shared a passionate relationship from the moment they met in 1970.

Micheline, 91, paid an emotional tribute to her "gorgeous model of a man", revealing his struggle with dementia.

"It was no life for him," she said of the condition that had "taken its toll".

"He was not able to express himself latterly. At least he died in his sleep and it was just so peaceful. I was with him all the time and he just slipped away," she said, adding that it was "what he wanted.""
