| 1467239 | 2020-03-07 00:31:00 | I have Windows 10, which is up to date. Online, have been reading that on my desktop, if I click on Search in File Explorer, then a new tab will open called "Search", positioned immediately to the right of the "File Home Share View" tabs. However, when I do this nothing happens? Have looked at more than one website and they say the same thing. How can I be doing this simple thing wrongly? | Misty (368) | ||

Think this only happens if you have the Ribbon turned on in the window? |

| 1467242 | 2020-03-07 02:13:00 | That was a bit of a hmmmm Heres how it works, if you open File Explorer, on the far right is the search box ( see picture with arrow) type something in there you are searching for, press enter, when it finds results THEN the search tab will appear. 10226 Example from this PC searched for Cases -- the long green line still going but tab appeared :) 10227 |

Many thanks, wainui, you are like the cavalry in the old westerns - you come over the horizon, when all hope has gone! All the help you have given me and others, must be worth at least a Christmas card or a case of whisky! Your suggestion worked like a charm - I wanted to see my .afphoto files, so that was my initial search, then I sized to over 1Gig. Got seven, of which five were not unexpected, but deleted one of the remaining two, plus investigated the last one (a whole other story which would bore everyone, but interesting for me). |
