1466582 2020-02-09 23:00:00 There has been a problem with printing via USB with Chromebooks. The pages were blank.
I have discovered that Chrome OS does not use conventional drivers, but has a container (Linux) which relies on Data from a PPD file (Post Script Printer).
You will find a PPD file amongst the software supplied with your printer. Download this file, and place it in a sub-folder of 'Downloads'.

When you set-up the Printer, look for the 'browse for PPD' field, and set the path to the file.
Works 100%

No problem with wireless & cloud printers. The problem occurs when an old printer is connected to USB.
My printer is a Brother HL-2040 Lazer. It only has USB & Parallel ports. My main computer has Linux Mint 18.3 which has no problem with any printers.
