42351	2002-04-07 03:43:00	Every 30 seconds exactly my computer makes a strange sound (Win 98,-IE6) It is the sound of a typewriter-beat which is part of ICQ. It persits even if the computer is not in use or connected to the internet,- have uninstalled ICQ without success. Apart from driving me round the bend, it also interferes with some games. 42352	2002-04-07 04:44:00	what sort of sound card is it? and how long has it been installed and how long has the problem been happening? theres been the odd problem with some sound cards and the mouse conflicting causeing clicks when you move the mouse. moveing the sound card to another pci slot often fixes that. does it happen if you turn the pc off (leave the power on to it and the speakers still on)? are you in a rural area? i've had a few problems with electric fences being so bad that it causes the speakers to click. 42353	2002-04-07 05:06:00	Fritz, Can you spot any strange application running if you do a <ctrl><alt><del>? List the programs back here if you can't decide. It could still be a vestige of ICQ (or accompanying spyware) that hasn't unloaded.	Guest (0)
