42298 2002-04-06 23:57:00 I haven't used this prog before but was wondering if it is possible to use it like instant messenger for communicating with others on my network at work. If so please give details or links so I can figure it out - cheers. Guest (0)
42299 2002-04-07 00:41:00 Have a look at Winchat - its an operating system utility you can optionally install. Guest (0)
42300 2002-04-07 02:00:00 Stephen, and Wuppo, I think it might actually be called 'WinPopup' rather than 'WinChat' - it's on your Windows CD and can be optionally installed (you might need to search for it on the CD, I can't remember)

42301 2002-04-07 02:11:00 Winpopup is one way of talking over your network. Another way is in dos using the net send command.

Open up a DOS prompt type net send <nameofcomputer> <message>

e.g. net send pressf1 hello world!

hello world! will be sent to the computer named pressf1 on your network.
