42260 2002-04-06 12:25:00 Suddenly today I cannot click on any icon on the desktop because when my mouse pointer comes within 2cm of an icon it chases it away resulting in a messed up arrangement of the icons. Restarting the computer doesn't cure the problem. Any suggested remedies please! Guest (0)

I can't remember what the way to get out of it was. Maybe go to start/run, type: msconfig
On the startup tab, see if there are any programs which look like they might be it and untick it.
Maybe try going to the Web tab of Display Properties and see if there is anything ticked in the textbox.

Also worthwile asking around some people who might have access to your computer.

Here's a link to details about the virus and hopefully how to remove it:

It was an unexpected virus,
the Magistr, the first I've
ever had since I have only read emails from trusted friends. I am told it can infect when one is just reading emails. I had to
reinstall my OS (ME) since 38 files were infected.
