42251 2002-04-06 11:26:00 The computer I have has a duron processer running Win 98 SE. I have had an Ihug satellite connection for the last year or so. The main reason for the satellite is that our rural phone line quality here near Taihape is terrible. At best I get a speed of 21,000 bps with a conventional modem... some times slower!!

I would like to be able to share the internet connection with another computer in my house, but don't know where to start. At the moment I have no net work cabling or network card in my PC.
The other computer I would like to connect to is an Apple IBook. It is network ready and will work on a network with PCs I understand.

The software that comes with the IHUG satellite connection is :

Skymedia 200D
Product No. SM200DTP

Will I need some extra software to turn my PC into an Internet server?

42252 2002-04-07 02:51:00 unfortunatly win98se ICS will not work with IHUG sat. you need to get either a nat translation software eg sygate, wingate or a proxy software eg proxy+. i don't know if the nat software will work with an apple client(due to the client side software) so the proxy will be the best bet.

add a lan card and a crosover cable and it should be ok :)
