42199 2002-04-06 05:51:00 I have a PentiumIII 450 with 128Mb RAM, a 32Mb nVidia GeForce2MX200 chip video card (Graphic Force brand), Win98SE, a 40Gb Maxtor HDD and a Chaintech CT-6ASA motherboard with VIA PROplus(VT82c693,VT82c596A) chipset. The onboard sound is an ESS Maestro2. I have had the most recent nVidia Detonator drivers installed(4.13.01.2311), chipset AGP drivers updated and sound card drivers updated. I recently upgraded the video card from an 8Mb nVidia RIVA 128. Since then I have experienced frequent freezes during the following games: Red Faction, Deus Ex, Max Payne and Empire Earth. With my old 8Mb video card I could play Red Faction O.K. and even Max Payne would run even though the graphics were understandably shocking. I would appreciate any help to sort this out. Guest (0)
42200 2002-04-06 07:55:00 I haven't looked recently, but the last detonator drivers I downloaded were 28.32 If you are running at AGP 4X, try knocking it back to 2X. Guest (0)
42201 2002-04-06 07:56:00 Try updating your DirectX to version 8.1 which you can find on the Microsoft site. Guest (0)
42202 2002-04-06 10:02:00 The 23.11s are not the latest :)

There was (and might still be) a flaw in the Nvidia drivers that caused random crashes when running under either OpenGL or D3D (can't remember which at the moment)

Try updating to 27.xx or higher. Although I've been using the 23.11s with no trouble.

Might also be heat :|

I have recently upgraded my hard drive to a 80GB and have been having troble with my CPU detecting it. It wont formate, it wont let me access fdisk, bios wont find it, so Im starting to think maybe my motherboard wont support it. Have you updated your bios chip, if so where did you find the download?
