42306 2002-04-07 00:54:00 As we all know, Zfree is going very soon. Im thinking about going to JetStart, and am wanting a few questions asked if possible.

1-how much would a monthly bill come to? This would include all charges pertained to using the net: ISP charges, JetStart Charges, etc. Are there any phoneline charges as well? Sorry, ive only used the free Zfree!! Ivew heard it comes to about $50ish all up per month?

2-Is JetStart a flat rate? No mb limits? If this is not the case, what is the mb limit per month?

3-If i was to use an internal modem, can i still do internet connection sharing with my other pc?

Any other info would be greatly appreciated (like, is it value for money etc)

Thanks

42307 2002-04-07 01:50:00 Each month you will pay $65. This includes Telecom's cost, and the ISP's one. To install JS for the first time, though, it'll either cost $100 (if you plan on buying filters for your phone-jacks used by your phones...filters cost $20 each) or $178 (where Telecome comes to your house and installs a splitter outside of your home, and then runs a cable into your home, and no filters are needed).

JetStart is flatrate, with unlimited usage per month. Except for ihug, though, as they charge you if you exceed 10GB. Don't know why this.

Yes, you should be able to do ICS with an internal modem.

42309 2002-04-07 03:55:00 The all up cost per month will be around $64.90 per month, depending on which ISP you choose.

Some ISPs do cap the amount that you can download, Slingshot is around 7GB for example.

Remember that JetStart does not require a separate phone line. So if you have a separate phone line solely for the internet at the moment, you won't need that anymore.

42310 2002-04-07 04:29:00 JM, since when have Slingshot offered Jetstart???

On their site they only have details about their $14.95 56K flat-rate plan.
