I had a problem with my computer running windows98 with only been able to get 16 colors. the folder i went to was C\:WINDOWS\OPTIONS\I810\GRAPHICS AND RAN THE 'SET UP' AND THIS FIXED MY PROBLEM. YOUR ADAPTOR WILL HAVE A DIFFERENT NAME THAN THE ONE I USED WHICH WAS I810. HOPE THIS HELPS |

| 42529 | 2002-04-08 07:45:00 | Apart from a couple of typos, I didn't have any trouble understanding Marcel's message. Maybe it's because 'I've been there, done that', that I know how frustrating this problem can be. First of all, getting the information you need, is to t find out whether you have an 'onboard' video or a separate video card. If it's on-board (that is, built onto the motherboard ... ie, no video card), then finding the driver you need, is to make a note of the MB number at startup. It will be a long number so you need to wait until you see a string of numbers appear on the bottom of your screen. Then hit the 'Pause|Break' button on your keyboard, which gives you the chance to write it down. Once you got the number, go to a site like www.driverguide.com and enter it in its search page. If on the other hand you have a separate video card, you'll need to find its FCC ID which you'll find printed on the card itself and then do the same as described above. Hope that helps and good luck! Em |

I Couldn't find (at least at this stage)the one I was looking for: sis-620-za6inj19c-00, but I installed a sis620 and this seems to be working fine for the moment. Thanks as well to the others that responded, all have been a great help. Thank you Kind regards marcel |
