42386 2002-04-07 06:30:00 I have 2 Pc's networked at home. One runs Win2k and contains the modem and iHug satellite card, the second runs Win 98SE and shares the internet connection. All works fine but I like to use Zonealarm (free version) on the Win2K machine and it prevents the Win 98 PC from connecting while it is running.

Does anyone know how to set Zonealarm to allow the other PC to access the internet, the documentation seems to indicate that it can be done but I'm blessed if I can figure it out.

42387 2002-04-07 06:47:00 Just open up zone alarm and add your other pc to the trusted sites. your other pc will probably be 192.168.0.2 or something like that, If you havn't seen this number before run 'winipcfg' on the other computer to find out it's address. However i had the same set up as you once, and i found that i couldn't data sent from things like the modem or the satellite. all i could get was 325bytes. so i'd be interested to see if you can get zone alarm and ihug satellite going together. 42388 2002-04-07 08:31:00 as well as adding the 2nd pc in the local network you will need to change the sircuity settings from high to medium. you will loose stealth, if you want stealth you will need pro ver.

are you useing the ihug VPN setup?

42389 2002-04-08 06:34:00 Thanks roofus and Tweak'e. Downgrading the security level did the trick ok, I guess some protection is better than none.

I'm not using ihug VPN by the way, I must confess I know nothing about it.
