Having had a new CPU and a new motherboard I still get freezing intermittently on my Win ME machine. All hardware has been tested in the shop, drivers updated also. But every now and then the screen will freeze; sometimes ctrl alt del and straight back in to the programme works, sometimes I need to reset the machine and sometimes I have to disconnect from the power source. I have two CD drives, one for burning. Sometimes during idling I hear the CD drives 'grabbing' as though something is there. It's been in the shop a number of times but the techno just can't seem to crack it. Thanks for any ideas. PS - This is my first time - I read about it in PC World! |
