42951 2002-04-10 01:44:00 I am unable to use the free zonealarm program with XP. My computers are on a personal network that I have created and I am finding it takes for ever to log on and when I do then it is unable to reestablish my network shares.Whenever I close Zonealarm I have free access to all my network shares again and all runs smoothly. If I uninstall Zonealarm then logging on is not an issue.
I would love to keep the firewall for obvious security reasons. Could someone help.

42952 2002-04-10 01:55:00 You have to let ZA give access to computers on your network. Also lowering the settings for protection on your network should allow it to run smoothly.

If people on your network can be trusted then it should be ok to set it to minimal protection. Otherwise you have to configure it.

42953 2002-04-10 02:00:00 Yeah I thought as much but I dont really want to lose the protection that ZA offers. If I lower my security will there be any point to having the firewall? What will it protect me against. Guest (0)
