| 42910 | 2002-04-09 23:32:00 | Couple of days ago my Zone Alarm asked me if it was OK for GATOR to access the internet. Now I never heard of Gator and checked it out. It had installed inself on my computer unbeknown to me, and checking through Google it seems to be some noxious form of spyware. (Something called Gain or CMEll also appeared). I also had a suddenly opening box asking if it was OK to install COMET on my system. This stuff is really pretty bad and I deleted it, even went through my registry and deleted any references/keys to GATOR. I run Ad-Aware frequently now. Is this the best way to avoid this junk, or would Proxomitron or Webwasher etc also be useful? |
