42894 2002-04-09 20:05:00 I have an entry in the startup on msconfig which i wish to delete.

Can anyone tell me how i delete this entry permanently.

I have deleted it from the registry but cannot delete it from msconfig/startup.

Also there are a number of entries in msconfig/startup which are there twice is there anyway to cleanup this situation?

Thanks

42895 2002-04-10 02:48:00 download the freeware called regclean can get it from this site.

http://www.jv16.org/

when u run this program there is a tab called startup list, go into this one and tick what u want to get rid of and click on the tab at the bottom that says remove selected.

hope this helps

42897 2002-04-10 02:49:00 If you have deleted the registry key for the startup item that you don't want then it should automatically disappear from msconfig.
If not you may need to tick the box again for it in msconfig and restart the PC and it should then be gone.

Also, some things will be listed twice as some programs run as program and a service.
Usually this is antivirus software or something to do with Power saving.
