43127 2002-04-10 11:52:00 Hi, I have just networked my flatmates PC with mine at 100Mbs using a cat5 crossover cable. Does anyone know of any free software which would let us send quick messages that pop-up on the other persons screen? Saves us yelling down the hall.

Cheers

43128 2002-04-10 12:04:00 At a DOS prompt, 'net send [computer name] [message]' then hit enter.

Works in command cmd or the run box.

either that or open up the run dialogue box and run 'winpopup'.

winpopup.

I think that's what your after.

43130 2002-04-10 12:11:00 If your using NT/2000/XP open up a command window and use the net send command.
If the other computer is running Win9x, winpopup will have to be running to receive net send messages.
