| 43264 | 2002-04-11 05:34:00 | I have WinXP running on my machine however I find that Floppies formatted by Win98 are not able to be read in my A: drive. Is this to be expected?.Disks formatted by WinXP are fine. | Guest (0) | ||

I don't know whether it still continues, but Microsoft have a history of making every version of Backup not able to read disks made by previous versions. They're only 'customers' out there. If the disks were formatted on another computer, the most likely cause would be that the head alignments of the 2 drives differ. |

I have read somewhere that if the WINXP is setup as NT, then it will not be able to read any WIN9X disks. I do not know how true this is and whether it is restricted to floppies or both floppies and CDs'. Can anyone answer this question too? |
