43188 2002-04-11 00:07:00 Hi All,

I recently decided to put my CD collection on my PC at home. I mistakenly
used Real Player to carry out the task (hey newbie mistake).

Real Player saved all the tracks in real player format (RMX) instead of as
MP3.

Anybody know of a program that will convert the tracks from RMX to MP3.

I don't want to go through the pain of renaming the tracks once it's loaded
on the PC again.

Cheery then

43189 2002-04-11 01:38:00 my personal fav: cdex_130 it's a slow ripper, it just sits there, and slowly reads your CD and gives you MP3's at whatever quality you want, i choose 160k, but i'm a perfectionist.
A 70 minute CD might take 20-30 minutes to do on a slow machine, but it will do the job perfectly, and doesn't seem to need the fastest of machines to do the job

43190 2002-04-11 02:51:00 oops, answered a completelyu differant question to that you asked... but if you want c-dex, which has suddenly become rather difficult to find in english, ask and ye shall receive. I have a copy here. Guest (0)
43191 2002-04-11 05:22:00 cdex (ver 1.40) is advailable at www.cdex.n3.net

there are a few coverters around but no free ones (that use the latest codec) that i know of. real dosn't give its codecs out for free. however there may be an illegal hacked one out. otherwise you will have to find a pro one or rerip the cd.

o how i hate real networks with there closed format >:-/
