43519 2002-04-13 00:22:00 I had denied Nortons Live update access with Zone Alarm, Thought I had turned off the feature in Nortons as well but hadn't. Anyway I'm surfing away this morning only to notice the live update icon flashing away in the systray happily downloading a 1300kb virus definition. Anyone know why Zone Alarm let it through?

Thanks

43520 2002-04-13 00:49:00 Probably because Zonealarm knows that you should always keep your virus definitions up-to-date :)

Why would you want to stop it from autoupdating?

Zonealarm has many problems and bugs, this may just be one of them. Try a better firewall, such as Tiny Personal Firewall <www.tinysoftware.com>, or Agnitum Outpost <www.agnitum.com>

43521 2002-04-13 01:47:00 Thanks Mike, I have autoupdate turned off because the kids use the machine as well & I like to know what is happening i.e in and out & I have found that sometimes the autoupdate will say it has completed when it actually hasn't.

I was just suprised to see that Zone Alarm had let it get access when I had denied it permission.

Thanks again.
