| 43490 | 2002-04-12 16:58:00 | Windows has fallen of its perch & can't find scandisk on bootup but goes straight to command prompt. Canny user has not made rescue disk/backups etc, but does have rescue cd from supplier. Unfortunatly running rescue cd erases entire HD. Is there anyway to just overwrite Windows and preserve Apps and data? TIA |

If so, that should have a 'setup.exe' which will do a W95 reinstall, without hurting the applications. Otherwise, look at the rescue CD. It might have such a directory --- it should have the .CAB files, and setup.exe and a few others. (It might be a hidden directory on a manufacturer's 'rescue' CD). | Guest (0) | ||
