43480 2002-04-12 10:52:00 Just a few hints for posters with problems.
1-Before posting, search the F1 database from the top of the page, some questions get asked over and over again.
2-Read the heading on the top of the page, be clear and concise, add in relevant details ie 486\66 or Pentium2.4Gb,Linux or Windows 3.1 etc.
3- Don't post and run, your wasting everybodies time including your own.
4-Post once, multiple posters tend to get ignored.
5-Use English and Grammar, then EVERYBODY can understand your post.
6-Hang in there. You may not get an instant answer but unless you problem is especially archane, you will get an answer.(Some of the experts specilize in unanswered posts)
7-Answer futher questions, this helps isolate your problem and ensure you get the right solution.(See 3-)
8- When everybody has tried their best( and sometimes spent a lot of time researching) to provide an answer to your problem, say THANK YOU (Even if you didn't get a solution).

I looked to this post to see what new posters were available... my ones on the wall are a bit tatty....

Actually - I agree with the final tip - RESPOND to those who took time to help you... did the suggestion work? We'd love to know.

43482 2002-04-12 13:07:00 Rod Ger,

Another tip.

Please use paragraphs or a blank line as separator on a lengthy post, as it makes it difficult to read.

People who may have answers to your problem may have lost interest before the end!

Heres a hint for you - If it appears that someone hasn't used paragraphs as in Rod Ger's case, It usually means they have only pressed enter once. Thread view doesn't show single carriage returns. To see paragraphs as rod ger intended, click on the 'view' icon at the top right of his post.

You will see nicely aligned points.
