43439 2002-04-12 06:11:00 Sometimes when I dialup, it connects OK, but I cannot access any website, or my email - I get cannot connect to server errors. If I disconnect and reconnect, the problem still exists. Tried logging out and back in - still there. Tried restarting - works everytime.

This usually occurs after my connection is mysteriously dropped. This is ahppening more and more often at random intervals with no warning, and no apparent cause. It has happened three times while trying to post this message, with a restart required each time!

Any ideas?

Windows XP Pro, IE6, Zonealarm 2.6.362, NAV2002.

43440 2002-04-12 06:20:00 The problem could be with your ISP's dns servers. Does your ISP dynamically assign you dns server addresses or have you manually set them up?

If they are dynamically assigned try finding out the IP addresses of the dns servers and set them up manually.

43441 2002-04-12 06:38:00 If your ISP is Zfree then that could be your problem, as they are now rapidly pulling out plugs. Probably getting ready for the big shutdown in around 15 days or so. Guest (0)

43443 2002-04-12 08:45:00 It seems as though the problem could be in your modem, ISP or browser. If you are not with Zfree (see earlier post) could you post which of the above you are using (or trying to use!) - that might provide some clues. If you happen to have a Dynalink modem a call to their helpful tech support may help. Guest (0)
43444 2002-04-12 09:55:00 I'm having the same problem on a Win2000 system. Network connection dies even though it says it hasn't. Reboot and all is fine for a while.

43445 2002-04-12 12:18:00 Ihad that same annoying problem and took Zone alarm off to make it work right..
I've since put it back on again but with my internet security set to medium..
another possibility.
