When saving pictures off the web they always saved as a Jpeg unless it was a Bmp file. Now ALL pics save as Bmp's.
Why would this change? |

In my humble experiance they save as what they are, which is usually either .jpg or .gif Have you changed browser? What software are you using? Without these details you are asking 'how long is a peice of string'! |

Im using the latest Internet Explorer and have not upgraded or done anything, that what is confusing me. Yes in the past the pivs have saved as whatever format the were created in but I have tested this with my own web site and a jpeg still wants to save as a bmp file, when saving off the web! |

If you right click on a picture and select 'Save Picture As' what options do you have. I get gif and bmp (gif is the default), but normally pictures save in their original format be it jpg, jpeg, bmp, etc. It may be that you have lost a file association. I'm not sure how to restore it but perhaps saving a picture in the gif format will reset things for you. |

No I only get bmp as the only choice. It has been suggested to look at file association but Im lost as where to do this |
