43663 2002-04-13 20:17:00 Afriend phoned me recently to advise that they could,'t get any sound from there pc speakers. On investigation I see that Windows Media Player ver 7.0 that came with their Windows ME machine has no or hardly any codecs. I would like to uninstall WMP but could not see it listed under Add/Remove programs. I'd like to put WMP 7.1 on.
Any Ideas?

Cheers

43664 2002-04-13 21:31:00 Just install WMP7.1 over the top - being Microsoft product it'll overwrite like its supposed to and work as well as any MS product ever does...

although I doubt this'll help much - you should find the appropriate codecs on the net and download and install them, and then they should work okay. Not all codecs come with WMP.
