| 43580 | 2002-04-13 09:05:00 | greetings Graham -was interested to read your mention of ageneric driver for your modemn(in an earlier posting) I've got a conexant HCF PCI modemn (which uped my speed,as per hover over 2 screen images on my taskbar from 21.4 to 31.2Kbps on my poor lenghty phonelines)from my previous/original modemn.BUT my disconnect from internet appears to take an age and frequent/weekly reinstall of driver is needed.I am advised that there is not an upgrade available. ANYWAY-question-did you have a similar problem hence the generic driver 'fujitsu LB RWModemn V.90 56 E . Would you/other readers , recomend it AND how would I find it? Cheers. |

Problems solved. Driver for fujisu found on XP install disk, or use google. Hope that solves your troubles. Cheers. |

| 43582 | 2002-04-14 04:03:00 | The reason I was using the wrong driver is because the original drivers that came with the modem didn't work under XP, the new ones on the conexant website wouldn't install, and the one assigned by XP from the XP disc would not let me disable the modem speaker, so I had to listen to the screech constantly while on line. The fujitsu driver was recommended to me by someone on this forum (sorry I have forgatten who) and it works fine now. G P |
