| 43854 | 2002-04-15 01:44:00 | I have recently installed office xp and am running win xp home There is a very annoying feature in word and i would like to fix it. When i type an apostrophe (') i have to press the apostrophe key twice to make it show up, and then two apostrophes come up (''). This is very annoying as i always have to go back and delete the second apostrophe. Also, if i only type one apostrophe (') followed by a vowel (e.g. e) the e is turned into an e with an acute accent (i) Does anyone know how to turn of this feature or if there is a patch available to download? |

From memory I think the solution was to change the language option to English: go to Tools, Language, Set Language and choose English New Zealand. That should fix it but if it doesn't work you might have to do the same in the Control Panel somewhere. |
