43836 2002-04-14 22:57:00 Is there any way of recovering data from a HD, that hasn't been erased or formated, but has had the primary DOS partition redefined using FDISK (final format NOT carried out)?

Drive letter now recognised, but now invalid media.

Thanks

43837 2002-04-15 00:51:00 Peacock Technologies in Palmerston North will do it for you - at a cost.

Otherwise look on the net for something like 'HD data recovery' and you'll find programs that will do it for you if you don't mind taking the risk that you may stuff up.

good luck

I tried an Auckland based data recovery service, but they were too expensive relative to the 'value' of the data.

Pleased to advise that I have now recovererd the data by using software found on the net. This software is now a vital part of my tool kit!!

Thanks,

R.
