43770 2002-04-14 09:44:00 Hope this doesn`t seem too dumb a question but how do you use Tweakui? Keep reading about this programme and have just discovered I have it installed on my computer. Windows 98SE. It doesn`t appear to have a 'help' button.
Also does 9x mean 98?
Really appreciate this page and am learning almost daily by reading the questions and going to the answers.
Thanks in advance, Iris

43771 2002-04-14 10:08:00 Depends on what you'd like to do with it?!
everything is pretty much self-explanitory, if u installed it. extract the exe file to somewhere like your windows directory and then right-click on tweakui.inf i believe, and then select install. A help window will appear, and just remember where you did extract the files, coz that's where the help file is located. It's fairly easy though, it's all v/self-explanitory and so, yeah, hope it helps a little, i've never actually used the help, so just play around with one thing at a time so you can undo it if anything happens that you don't like!!!!

43772 2002-04-14 10:41:00 If you do a search on your PC for tweak a file called Tweakui.hlp should turn up. You can double click on this to get to the help file.

To start TweakUI open it from your Control Panel (Start, Settings, Control Panel).

Generally you can just play around with the settings (not too many at once though!) until you decide which ones you want to use. Mostly I just use the option to turn off arrows on shortcut icons, control what shortcuts I've got in my New right-click options and what goes on the Desktop, and that sort of thing. Just use what takes your fancy.

Windows 9x stands for any Windows operating system from 95 to 98SE. That means Win95, Win98 and Win98SE. (Have I forgotten any?)

After that came Win2000, WinME, WinXP, etc.
