Hi, I have a P3 500/128mb ram with a creative TNT2 2 32mb card. Does anybody know/or tried a Gforce 2 card in such a speced machine? Is the improvement worth the money? Or is the 500 a bit long in the tooth to take advantage? |

I just upgraded a machine with the same specs to a Geforce 2 MX400. The improvement was of the order of 15-23% in the benchmarks I use to check things out for gaming performance. You should be able to find such a card pretty cheap at the www.trademe.co.nz auctions.
It is well worth doing and may I suggest another 128mb of ram would not go astray if you are playing some of the newer 3D games. |

Thanks for the comment, I'll definitley add 128Mb of ram, and I will try the new detonator drivers. Nvidia seems to think 30% to 50% improvements. |
