43989 2002-04-15 11:03:00 Hi,after 10 mins into FS2002,the game freezes.Happens also with Kyodai Mahjong, although that can run longer. Then a reset.Tried loading drivers again on instructions from my pc supplier, the main window wouldn't load, back to pc....,they reloaded ME and saved all the data as old file and I managed to get eveything back after reloading programs. At least system restore is now in the tools dept.pc...told me not to reload IE6,zonealarm or Norton System Works2002.I put IE6 back on,flight sim later after I had recovered! It still played up,so I've put ZAlarm and NSW back on.Any suggestions please.I'm only a 1 year old with pc's.Tried Microsoft sites, can't find anything.AMD 800mz,256 ram on Windows ME.Thanks. 43990 2002-04-15 12:34:00 Hi N M,

Sorry I don't have a satisfactory answer to your dilemma, but I've been thinking....

Send me FS2002 and I'll try it on my system to see if it causes problems. We might be able to sort it by the process of elimination method.

Cheers.

43991 2002-04-15 22:08:00 I tried Flight Sim a while ago and nothing but problems.

One review I read said it needed resources beyond most average computers to run properly, really memory hungry. Any way I got rid of it because I couldn't be bothered mucking around with it.

As for Kyodai ensure you have the latest direct X drivers installed if you are playing in 3D. Mine kept crashing until I updated my graphics card & installed the latest direct X. You must have a reasonable 3D card installed.
Have you tried playing in 'best compatibility mode'
I have had no problems when using it and it seems to run faster as well.

As a footnote. 'Bet I can beat you' Whats your best score/time?

HTH

43992 2002-04-15 23:05:00 I have played the MS Flight 2002. It appears to use a fair bit of memory. You don't mention what sort of video card you are running though.
I have it installed on a computer here running WinME with a 32mb DDR gforce card and 512ram and it runs perfectly. Same system also has ZA and IE6. Neither of these two programs should affect it, though nor should Nortons

43993 2002-04-16 00:30:00 As others have said, you do need a lot of RAM, good 3D video card, and fairly modern CPU.

Try setting the display settings in FS back to lower levels of details. Failing that, try www.flightsim.com - they have a section of hints and tips on getting the best performance and resolving a few bugs.
