43915 2002-04-15 04:51:00 Are there better providers of Jetstream speed DSL than Xtra at around the same price? Guest (0)
43916 2002-04-15 05:44:00 Hi

Dont know about jetstream but paradise.net are much better than xtra with jetstart - havent noticed any capping etc.

Yes, even a steaming pile of horse crap would move data faster then Xtra at the moment.

Check out Paradise, World-net, Web Internet etc. There are heaps of others which I can't remember at the moment.

Especially don't touch Xtra if you want Jetstart as this is slower than dialup.

43919 2002-04-15 08:42:00 My Jetstart is far faster than my dial up. Epecially handy for Multiplayer Games. Most of the time my Dial Up couldn't manage getting into any servers. When I did get into a server I would have a lag of around 350-575ms now I get 80-90ms

(Connecting to a New Zealand server)

I've seen far faster connections then my little Jetstart DSL but anything was better then Dial Up.

43920 2002-04-15 08:48:00 One thing to note. In the next we while Paradise and ClearNET bandwidth are going to be joined. They are both going to be going through Clear CLIX network.

I am going to see how the go. Might have to change ISP's.

43921 2002-04-15 08:52:00 Don't forget to check the data limits. As far as I know, all ISPs except Xtra charge per meg once you use a certain amount. Granted, 10 gig or so is a lot, but the idea of Jetstart was it was a slower, *flat rate* option. Xtra has no download limits. I looked at changing to another ISP but didn't want to run the risk of going over the allocated data... Guest (0)
