43880 2002-04-15 04:16:00 Using Win98 and IE6 I had a second desktop -one for adults and one for kids. I decided to delete the 2nd desktop but forgot to save my documents and graphics etc first!!!
I have tried everything I can find to restore it without success.
Any tips Pleease?

43881 2002-04-15 05:07:00 Data recovery = dollars.

Determine how essential the lost data is first then decide whether the experience outweights your chequebook.

43882 2002-04-15 09:04:00 if you are in auckland, i can help recover some (if not most) of your files, but you must stop using the pc as any new files may overwrite deleted ones. cost is $50 +gst per hour. contact computerpro@paradise.net.nz Guest (0)

I don't see why deleting a desktop should affect the storage of your documents and graphics files. All you should have lost is any desktop shortcuts you used to access them and they should be readily found using Explorer.

You can open them direct from Explorer by double clicking and they should also be able to be found and opened using the file/open command from the originating programs.

I stand to be corrected here but it doesn't make any sense at all to me that files would be deleted because you got rid of a desktop so take a look behind the scenes and see what you can find.

Cheers
