2012-08-20 16:47:00 | Why is CCleaner trying to delete some of my important programs? Like Google earth, Skype, MS Anti malware which is program for the safty of my computer, and a dozen more important programs. | lostsoul62 (16011) | |
2012-08-20 18:14:00 | Its deleting the applications cache and saved user data. | stratex5 (16685) | |
2012-08-20 20:43:00 | What Stratex5 said. It is Not trying to delete programs just the tempory files those programs use. | CliveM (6007) | |
2012-08-20 22:20:00 | As Stratex5 said. Not uninstalling the programs, just cleaning up leftover files. | Nick G (16709) | |
2012-09-04 22:04:00 | "SpyBot - Search and Destroy" www.safer-networking.org/ would be another good addition if you want more security. :) | ThePanda (16872) | |
2012-09-04 22:11:00 | Spybot wont secure anything. Its not a firewall | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2012-09-04 22:14:00 | Sorry about that, I mean more like a cleaner when prevention fails. | ThePanda (16872) | |
2012-09-04 22:19:00 | I like spybot as well but I don't like it's resident tea-timer option, I would advise not using that. And yeah security might have been the wrong word to describe it, it's a malware scanner with a few other tools. It does clean up a lot of the same files as CCleaner does. It's advanced tools startup function is handy too, similar to CCleaners but if you load the descriptions files when you update it tells you what a lot of the entries are and makes it easier to decide what to disable. Be sure to read all the way through the entries because some files can be both legit or malware and just skimming the first entry might panic you.
