1295357 2012-08-18 05:12:00 Hi All
Can I rip a full CD as one long track in Windows Media Player?

Thanks

1295358 2012-08-18 05:35:00 Not sure just what you are trying to achieve? You can certainly rip the CD in Win media player but you end up with an exact copy ie. if it has 10 tunes you get 10 tunes not 1 very long one. CliveM (6007)

One long tune is exactly what I'm looking for, I never play individual tracks I just start and sit back. Sometimes the programmed start and finish breaks don't flow nice and smooth like a CD playing...

Cheers

1295360 2012-08-18 05:57:00 Rip the whole CD, and then there must be some software that lets you combine songs? Nick G (16709)

1295363 2012-08-18 08:48:00 You trying to make a 70's feel concept album? like Jethru Tulls 'Thick as a Brick' gary67 (56)
1295364 2012-08-18 09:18:00 Some player software can remove the gaps between songs during playback without any need to join tracks, maybe just use a better player.
Also I believe lossless formats such as FLAC or WMA lossless are inherently gapless as are wav files and will tend to playback better.

It can either be the delay caused by the player fetching the next track and buffering the file, or a small bit of silenced encoded at the end of the track by the ripping tool which apparently is normal for MP3.

I have a few albums that are designed to play continuously and they seem to work fine in media player in MP3 format. though.
