| 1272234 | 2012-04-27 05:03:00 | My PC screen has been going dark after I turn it on. Now when I turn it on with the power chord unplugged it wont go dark. When I plug the power chord in it will go dark in a few seconds. It doesn't go completely black but dark enough so you cant see what your doing. Any ideas on what is wrong?? | Tall Mike (16768) | ||

Typically manifests as toasted capacitors and a screen that goes very dark (but sometimes still legible under close scrutiny) sometimes shortly after a seemingly normal moment of illumination. Power light may or may not stay in the green. There's a Nobel prize worth millions if you can turn it on with the power cord unplugged. You may have the signal cord confused with the power cord. Is the attached computer actually running? |

If it's a desktop... the check screen brightness again. If the monitor goes without a power cable.... sell it for millions. |
