1272137 2012-04-26 14:06:00 Currently, I am unable to receive Teletext data from Sky TV but fine from TV1 direct (analogue).
When all analogue TV has been terminated will teletext be a thing of the past ??
Be a pity !

1272138 2012-04-26 20:45:00 I'm shocked to learn Teletext still exists, lol... in theory there's no reason it has to go with the digital switchover, it will just depend on if they actually fund it changing or not. inphinity (7274)
1272139 2012-04-26 22:44:00 Teletext will still work if your freeview TV or set top box have teletext. Haven't heard that they are shutting it down. My set top box has teletext.

1272140 2012-04-26 23:06:00 A lot of Sky channels now have subtitles but not Teletext itself I don't think. CYaBro (73)
1272141 2012-04-26 23:18:00 Sky carry teletext on TV1 & TV2 channels. Peter H (220)
1272142 2012-04-27 00:05:00 Captions are on quite a few Sky channels now, and you can record them if you have MySky too.
www.skytv.co.nz for more details.

Between you all and me (grins) TV3 is going to be able to display captions on digital signals soon, and TV4 are getting captions too.

1272143 2012-04-27 00:42:00 If you have teletext you can get captions on page 808. Also some Sky channels have captions on teletext page 808.

1272144 2012-04-27 03:34:00 Thanks for comments guys but it's teletext I'm looking for not captions.
On the analogue system teletext carried Nat & Internat news, lotto, finance etc - heaps of stuff.
Thanks anyway.
Cheers all

I guess with the internet so wide spread now and people sitting on the couch with a smartphone, tablet or laptop and browsing the net while watching TV Teletext is going to disappear.
A lot of new TVs have internet browsing capabilities as well.

1272146 2012-04-27 05:49:00 Good question woody. The only thing I can get on the tuner here is captions / not teletext news. The only thing that comes up is Mpheg or whatever it is. But I think this is only in the UK, not NZ Speedy Gonzales (78)
